2007年から継続して制作している、ビデオインスタレーションシリーズ。
鏡に絵の具を塗り、手で水を含ませていく事で、その絵の具はしたたり、 にじみ、ゆらぎを生み出す。 鏡には、絵の具そのものがもつ美しさとともに、制作者、鑑賞者の感情のゆらめきが抽出化されていく。 色のにじみ、したたり、ゆらぎの中に、あなたは何をみるだろうか？ 私はこの『MIRROR』シリーズで、新しい「絵画」の可能性を提示する。 絵の具や画面と向き合い、絵画を制作していく過程で、その瞬間瞬間にうまれる、緊張感、恍惚感、苦悩、、、 滞ることのない感情の起伏の、その狭間で、「絵画」は描かれていく。 その「絵画」の移ろいを映しだすのが、『MIRROR』であり、さらには、 キャンバスや時間軸を超えて、新しい「絵画」を形成していく。 "The basis of an aesthetic act is the pure idea...the idea-complex that makes contact with mystery—of life, of men, of nature, of the hard, black chaos that is death, or the grayer, softer chaos that is tragedy. I present new possibilities of what a painting can be by the video installation series "MIRROR" from 2007.
I apply paint to the surface of a mirror and mix, drips, wobbles, and fluid. In mirror, it outcomes a eternal and frail beauty that paint have itself, and flow of emotion of me and viewers. What do you find out in your "mirror"? While process of a painter faces to his/her works and makes a painting, it has momentary ecstasy, strain, distress…wave of emotion never overdue. And the changing appear on the his canvas immediately. "MIRROR" reflects directly the changing and moreover it extend over the confines of the canvas frame and time axis.
